Niseko Tourism is the official Destination Marketing Organisation (DMO) promoting year-round tourism in the Niseko area of Hokkaido. With a collaborative public-private framework and a global visitor base spanning Japan, Asia, Australia, North America, and Europe, we aim to elevate Niseko as a world-class, four-season destination. We are currently strengthening our brand position and marketing execution through a dedicated internal team and external branding partners.

About the role

The Member Relations Coordinator is a full-time, year-round position focused on serving and engaging Niseko Tourism's members. This coordinator will be the primary point of contact for member businesses and stakeholders, stepping in to handle all member-facing communications and programs. The role offers flexible working hours with at least 4 hours in the office per day (5 days a week) and the rest remote, Monday–Friday . The coordinator must be bilingual (English/Japanese) to effectively communicate with all members and produce content in both languages .

Main tasks
  • Member Onboarding & Admin: Facilitate new member enrollments by processing membership applications and coordinating approval processes with the leadership. Ensure timely communication with applicants and handle routine paperwork.
  • Member Support & Inquiries: Serve as the primary contact for members by managing the “info@” email inbox and responding to member requests or questions promptly . Proactively reach out to members for feedback or assistance to ensure high satisfaction.
  • Member Communications: Produce the weekly member newsletters in both English and Japanese, coordinating translations as needed. This includes gathering relevant news, writing content, and sending updates on schedule each week.
  • Member Events & Engagement: Plan and execute regular member networking events (e.g. quarterly mixers, workshops). Handle all event logistics, invitations, and on-site coordination to maintain strong community engagement among members.
  • Membership Programs: Manage member benefit initiatives such as the Local Discount Card program (update participating businesses each season, distribute cards and information) and oversee the member job postings board (collect job info from member companies and update listings weekly).

About you
  • Bilingual Communication: Fluent in English and Japanese (written and spoken) – essential for handling member communications in both languages .
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, service-oriented demeanor with excellent communication skills. Hospitality-minded and attentive to member needs, ensuring members feel supported and valued.
  • Local Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Niseko area and community; a local or long-term resident of Niseko is preferred . (Being known and trusted in the community is a plus for this outward-facing role.)
  • Proactive & Organized: Able to independently lead new membership initiatives and follow through on program development . Highly organized in managing schedules, events, and records to keep member services running smoothly.
Offer

  • Contract Term: Permanent
  • Hours: 40 hours/week (9AM - 6PM, 60 min break), at least 4 hours in the office per day
  • Holiday: 2 days per week, national holidays, new year holidays, total 119 days per year
  • Salary:  ¥300,000 ~ 350,000/ monthly plus Bonus(depends on organizational performance) 
  • Start:  Immediately

  • Reports To: Directors / General Manager / Deputy General Manager
  • No Housing Provided: Candidates should note that company housing is not provided for this role, nor is a housing allowance offered (relocation to Niseko will be at the candidate’s own expense).
