Hokkaido International School Niseko has been an established member of the Niseko community for fourteen years, HIS Niseko provides a student-centered, internationally focused education that nurtures curiosity, character, and global competence. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented with experience as a cleaner in an office or school environment who can help us to keep our school building sparkling for students and faculty.
This is a part-time position requiring two hours of cleaning per day, five days per week. The working timeframe can be flexible, though early morning is preferred. Responsibilities include maintaining clean restrooms, common spaces, and front entrance, as well as daily trash collection. We are a small school and close community; the person in this role will be welcomed by everyone as a member of our school team. This position begins in August 2026.
- The cleaner is expected to maintain the cleanliness of school facilities, as outlined in the job description document.
- The cleaner can be asked to assist in set-up for and clean up after school events and programs. If this is beyond the hourly purview of the position, additional hours will be offered at the discretion of the principal.
- The cleaner is expected to perform routine duties on a daily, weekly, or seasonal basis, as necessary.
- The cleaner is expected to ensure that the buildings are in top usable form by the Opening Ceremony of school and after each school holiday.
- Fluent in Japanese or English
- Have transportation
- Ability to communicate positively with students, parents, and faculty and work cooperatively as a team
- Have previous experience cleaning professional work spaces
Remuneration:
- ¥2000/hour
- Paid personal leave available after six months
- On-site accident insurance
- ¥4000/month transportation supplement
- Annual contract

- Part-time, 10 hours/week
- 2 hours/day, five days a week
- The two-hour shift preferred schedule is early morning, though there is flexibility on the final shift time frame
