Make Your own YUKI-ITA / GRAVITY NISEKO
This two-day workshop invites THE NORTH FACE athlete Toru Kawaguchi, who also designs and crafts skis and yuki-ita (snowboards without bindings), to guide participants through the process of making their own original yuki-ita. Participants will complete every step themselves, from designing the blank and cutting out the shape to sanding and finishing, creating a one-of-a-kind board to take home. Yuki-ita are simple winter boards with no bindings, designed for freely riding natural snowy terrain. Making one by hand offers a deeper connection with the equipment and a unique opportunity to experience the enjoyment of craftsmanship while discovering a new way to explore Hokkaido’s winter mountains.
