WEATHERPowderlife Snow Report, 31 March 2010![]()
Just a windborne dusting will cover the groomers this morning, but they'll be in very good condition up high. Get up early to make the most of the conditions before the day warms up and the winds build. This fantastic March had to end somewhere and surprise surprise! It's ending on the 31st ... Tomorrow's forecast isn't looking too promising, with a warm front accompanied by rain at lower elevations. We might escape this up high - but I wouldn't bet on it. It will be April after all and very much into Spring weather mode. Get your turns in today would be my advice. Gates wil open today - probably just after 9.00. Check the latest Avalanche Report here. I'With the end of March also comesa the end of my regular reports. I'll still be posting updates, but they won't be daily any longer. Thanks to everyone for your kind words and I'll see you on the hill... ![]() Powderlife Snow Report, 30 March 2010![]()
Another beautiful spring day in Niseko. Just a dusting of fresh snow over the groomer, but still good turns to be had. We're looking for more snow again from this afternoon, ahead of a warm front moving in from tomorrow. Get your best turns in ahead of that front would be my advice, as we may be looking at rain Thursday! Peak gates are expected to open at 9.30 this morning, but check here for the latest info on gate opening times and Avalanche conditions. ![]() Powderlife Snow Report, 29 March 2010![]()
March 29 - This month is never going to stop. Another amazing Niseko day with a great 20+cms in the last 24 hours and blue blue skies to enjoy it in ! Great conditions for any time of the season, unbelievable for the end of March! We're looking at a fairly cold day, but this bright sun will still fry through especially down low. North faces and trees will hold their condition better for longer. Gates should be open at 9.30 or so. Check here for the latest Avvie report & gate opening times.

Marching on... Coming to a snow resort this late in the season is a gamble. Just a few degrees more warmth and any precip is rain and you're waterskiing and walking around in a mud bath. Not Niseko. Not this year. This March has been fantastic and the 30cms plus of super dry snow in the last 24 hours is proof of that. It's almost April yet faceshots were the order of the day yesterday - and because there's NO-ONE around they could be found all day! If you gambled & are in town now, you hit the jackpot... if you thought about coming over but you're reading this anywhere else the world, sorry, but you lost big! And then last night the snow really came down... In short - today will be an unbelievable day. The forecast today is for cold temps, a bit of sun, no wind, and more snow. God conditions should continue thru to round Thursday when another system could bring a temporary warming ahead of another good fall of snow. ![]() Powderlife Snow Report, 26 March 2010
With snowfalls predicted to continue this year's great March looks set to continue for a while longer. The temps have also been cool, with only the one truly sun-baked day as the exception. This morning's light snowfall looks like it wil continue intermittently, getting heavier after lunch. No significant winds. The sun is trying its best to chase away those clouds but we'll have to see who wims that batle. Back country gates should open round 10.00 this morning, but check here for the latest info on gates and Avalanche report. Enjoy your day out there make the most of these fantastic end-of-March freshies!
