Niseko Onsen Guide
Welcome to Niseko, a Hot Spring Destination!

Although best-known as a world-class winter playground with vast quantities of light, fluffy powder snow, Niseko is also blessed with other natural delights. Niseko is known in particular through Japan for its variety of terrific, natural hot springs (onsen in Japanese). These onsen are all naturally occurring volcanic hot springs, and the minerals within them are believed to have a good effect on your body. Regardless, they make a satisfying and relaxing end to a long day of skiing, snowboarding, hiking, cycling, or wherever your travels may take you.
Fifteen local onsen comprise the Niseko Onsenkyo, one of which is the famous, 100-year-old Kombu onsen. Various types of onsen facilities dot the area around Niseko, from fancy hotels to casual day spas, and their baths contain minerals from strong sulfurs to clear, sodium-rich water that will leave your skin feeling soft to the touch.
