Another superb March morning…
Mar 11, 2010
This is the view I have on my way into the office – just swing thru here to check the crowds etc…
Those of you who’ve been here will know that even at peak season the “crowds” are pretty much limited to first ups at Hirafu’s Centre 4 or Gondola only and they soon dissipate over the entire mountain. Niseko’s three other resort’s don’t even experience that short wait. Compare that to popular resorts overseas where queues of an hour are not uncommon!
And then there’s March – which is probably the best time of the year for families to visit Niseko. A typical week here will have a couple of decent powder days for Mum & Dad, blue skies more often than not, kids are happier, the roads are not so icey so everything off the hill is easier, it’s cheaper, and yet there’s NO-ONE here !!!
The above pic was taken just after 9.00am this morning. The conditions are tip-top for anyone riding the piste, cold overnight, scattered clouds and bluebird. Kinda hard to believe that I’ve had people complain to me about the crowds here !? If you’re not a hardcore powder junkie or if you’re thinking of coming over with the family, check out Niseko in March…
